Welcome to The Writer’s Oracle!

I’m Hannah Baker, a lifelong writer and creative storyteller. Though it is true the only constant in life is change, writing is the longest constant I’ve known. People come and go, seasons change, the cells in our bodies regenerate, and I am here to write about it all.

My professional writing career started at Lane Community College, where I founded the first horoscope column at The Torch, bringing in approximately 9,000 views a month. As I pursued journalism at the University of Oregon, I utilized this space as a professional portfolio. But only a handful of my academic pieces (works that I kept here) sounded like my voice. Maintaining this publication allows me to practice consistent, professional storytelling while staying true to my voice and values.

The Writer’s Oracle has become my creative sanctuary, a growing collection of personal essays and creative writing pieces prompted by oracle cards. Thank you for supporting my work as I excavate the voice within my writing that has been waiting to be found for a very, very long time.
